Can you imagine if we can get them to build an upainted version too!? Maybe, assemble on your own type of diecast car. That way they could be painted in the design of your own cars!

If someone with the skills in 3d modeling software can make a good model, you can get companies to run off copies of it. You can even upload it to www.shapeways.com and sell it with virtually no cost to you.

Speaking of which, why haven't we been getting keychains and everything done like this?.....

Not sure how durable the plastic of whatever it's made of is, a friend was just telling me about these 3d printers and I remember see'ing jay leno make a steam piston or something a long time ago from one.

3d printers, depending on the material they use are amazingly strong! I was on a robotics team last year and we had a company in town make us some parts to use and when we first got them we threw them across the room and chucked them at the ground and they didnt even chip or dent!

I would love a model, especially since then you could actually add engines from other models like the Protege! Maybe find wheels from other models as well...

We have to get a minimum of 100 signatures first. I surprised this hasn't taken off more.... I figured that if we have 1000 active member, atleast 400 would sign up pretty fast.
