Got me a black 1989 Festiva!!

Found me one in Canton Ohio. I had to drive over 230 miles to get her!

Drove it back and the engine is in great shape, has alot of pep! No burning of oil or leakage.
Other things need alot of TLC though. It needs brakes really bad. Needs a clutch, shocks, and the headlight wiring needs to be put back in place. Oh yeah, it needs a good cleaning on the inside. I will eventually have some minor body work done (rust) and repainted!

I will post a picture or two on how it looks right now, on this thread once I down load the photos.

I just joined this forum a few weeks ago. I have no idea what Ohiostiva is? Is it like a Rally for Festivas?

I say that cause I own a 250cc scooter and I go to scooter rallies with it alot.

Don't bother wasting any money on Festiva brakes. Do the Aspire upgrade immediately and you will stop on a dime.

Pictures of my Festiva as of now.
It is a Festiva LX
I plan on removing all those stickers.
Eventually I will have the rust worked on and repainted black with a silver stripe down the center and on the sides.
The drivers door is rusted bad around the window .... I may have to replace that. Anywhere I can find one?
The power mirrors still work and the rear winshield wiper still works.
The front windshield washer doesn't work. Any ideas where I can get that too??
I also have found standing water on the back passenger floor. I looked underneath and around the windows and couldn't find any signs of possible leakage. I did notice too that a window was broken out at one time. Found broken glass on the back floor.

Someone took great care of the engine BUT neglected other things around it. Like the AC was taken out completely, brakes are in really bad shape. Clutch needs replaced, new shocks needed. Headlight wiring needs to be put back in place. Its just rigged with the fog lights right now.

For a 1989 it's not bad. The heart of the Festiva is in great shape (the engine).

It looks like it has 13" rims already. Maybe the Aspire swap is done.

You need the whole knuckle from the Aspire, with caliper and rotor. Measure the distance between 2 opposite lug bolts center to center. If it's 100mm(3.9"), you're already set. If it's more than that, .

The brake pedal almost hits the floor and I can hear grinding. The rotors and maybe the drums will probably need replacing.

I have those exact wheel cover on my 90LPlus! They are going away very soon. I decided I like the painted steels better.

I think I'll go that route too.

I'm not driving it anymore until I get the brakes fixed.

The 236 mile drive home was adventurous with those brakes. My Ford Ranger brakes are much different than the Festivas worn brakes.
