Did you say unplugging the o2 still results in high o2 readings ? Find another VAF to try. After you verify coolant reading as explained above.

not having another VAF, I backed mine down to get a smooth lean idle. I turned the spring gear over 1/2 turn clockwise to dial in the Air Fuel Ratio to an acceptable level. Earlier when I found the VAF full of water I dried it out using a fan. Some residual corrosion must have affected the spring's sliding ability. This changed the original calibration. The low MAN VAC is cured as well. I also dumped the fuel saturated engine oil just for drill. I'll know more today.

I posted this in another thread because the title "closed loop operation"...... By resetting the VAF spring tension I managed to get it out of seriously overfueling down to a steady normal idle. In fact I was able to create a lean misfire with the VAF. I used propane enrichment and dialed in 25 rpm drop. The CAT is lit. Exhaust stinks running fixed 8.5 ms injector on-time @ idle. On-time increases with throttle. The o2 is fixed @ .6V based on VAF, no o2 sweep. I could see the o2 drop to ~.2V during the lean misfire. So I accept that the new o2 is working, simply reporting no change in Exhaust Oxygen content. IAC is working but slow to react. How do I know I'm not in FMEM? ...... I checked ECT V early on but didn't record the value. I'll recheck it. Connectors crumble. Fan running .41V @ ECT down from .9V warm engine off.

the water contamination was apparently from power washing my oily nasty new car under the hood. the water caused the massive overfueling that I have been dealing with for quite some time now. It still has not gone into CL.

I worked on dialing in the VAF today, by monitoring o2V while driving on the freeway. I kept pulling off the freeway, pop the hood, turn down the VAF until I got closed loop @ 75mph. now minor tweeking to get a good clean idle using the air bleed. This will explain any fuelly that pops on the light on the road then it goes out showing a code 17 KOER.
