  • has this ever happened to anyone before?

After me and the last girl I dated broke up, she told her friends that she thought that if she had been a car the relationship would've worked out better cause I would've loved her more. As horrible as that is, I kinda feel good about it, cause I do love cars, and I'm glad that people can see that in me... but I guess it still sucks. I just wish there were more girls around here that are as into cars as I am. (besides the drunk mud-bogging chicks :? )

I think the proper response would be to tell her friends that if she had been a car you might have had more fun while under the hood, so to speak.

well i remember that tv show my mother the car.. never heard of a my gf the car...

did she expect you to have an interest in things she liked? like dragging ya to craft shows, or shopping malls to admire clothes and shoes , or any other hobby or interest that occupied her time? maybe that just comes after marriage...

my ex didnt care for the festiva much either, it was ok, she didnt understand what i saw in it. of course she was a typical follow the fad brain washed type. she wanted me to by a RAV4

good luck in your search for a suitable replacement part joseph :!:

lol... yeah, I'm still looking... it doesn't help living down south in a hick town where all the car girls like K5 Blazers and jacked up Broncos... the only thing they see in my festivas is a fun obstacle to drive their 4X4s over

I am so sorry, girls are really weird.

When my boyfriend (now husband) wanted to get a new car, he was relieved when I said I wanted the Festiva...he still wanted to be able to drive it.

Maybe he married me because the Festiva was in my name.

A girl he works with actually said she felt bad for me when I had to drive the Festiva.. I laughed at her. "What?? The Festiva is awsome!!!" now she thinks we are both crazy.

Did you actually let her drive it so she knew how great it was??

Not trying to brag but my girl friend of 9 years loves cars, over the years she has bought me a couple, an Opel GT, a festiva and a 64 Nova.

Yeah, she drove it a couple of times... she said it was ok, but just couldn't understand why I loved it so much. She drives an '87 Escort hatchback with the 1.9 carbed motor and she says it is faster (which it isn't). She works next door to where I work and we met one day when her car wouldn't crank and I replaced the starter in the parking lot. After that I worked on her car a lot. I think I kinda dated her for her car in the opposite way from why people usually date people for their car. I enjoyed working on her car... lol...

that tends to be an on going problem, htchbck. None of my gf's have easily dealt with my obsession with cars. I mean, hell...look at the advantages.

                    1.) No back talk

                    2.) no arguments

3.) Ready to rock 'n roll when you are

4.) And the car is content with as much or as little time youre willing to spend with "her"

on the other hand, as my friends father told me

"If its got BLANK or tires, its gonna cost you money"

.....ill spend the money on the one with tires
...on your death bed, you will retain complete consciousness.....So i got that goin for me...which is nice...

My man, that was her way of saying you should have more time to enjoy such a beautiful thing.

I'll toss in my car v. woman story.

Dated a fairly attractive woman back when I was 21, and dropped her flat on her ass after two weeks for dissing my Festiva. The phrase "damn roller-skate" is not one I take lightly, even in jest (which it wasn't when she said it).

Neither is referring to Festivas as "piece of shit econobox." Made some friends walk home from the store once for bitching about ol'red.

thankfully my fiance thinks my Fes is cute and sees why I like to drive it.

                          When we drive Festivas
I could go a hundred miles an hour
Long as I got the Almighty Power
                          With my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car"

That's low mileage for a Festiva!
