Now that Ontario gas pumps have posted 'regular gas (87 octane)' as having 10% ethanol (VS 5% for the past decade or so) I went through a cold snap last week with my 86 carbed F150. It refused to start at -15C (5F) with that fuel. QuikStart in the air intake livens things up promptly and the truck runs OK once it's going. Whereas I ran 'premium 91 octane (no ethanol)' all winter this year in that same truck and with instant starts even at -28 C (-20 F). My Festy will tolerate 10% most of the time but when it's cold (-20) it too is very slow to fire up when there is "E" in the tank.
Just so you know; Not to fill up with blended fuel when the forecast is for cold temperatures.
