i have heard the same thing and i believe it to be true. i suppose you could consider it an early form of damper control.

I take that back about spoilers being made in Japan. I think they may have been made in Michigan or Austria. Here is a closeup of the the Aspire spoiler. I searched Google Germany for FOHA/FOR and RIGID PUR. I believe these spoilers were injected with a special rigid polyurethane. They are not completely fiberglas. Check out this armrest by Polytech FOHA. Here is the Michigan address for Polytec FOHA. It states that they manufacture OEM spoilers. I wonder If they did the Festiva spoilers? I sent them an email.

more useful are the tiny plastic 41684 plugs that you install into the roof that the spoiler screws into. GREEN SALES has them

Here is my footrest , that I scavenged at the junkyard from some van. I guess if I bolt it so that the cut off corner is in the carpet, It might look like the GT-X.

I'm diggin' those 13" 4-spoke directional steel wheels as well. Looks like it says 175/60-13 under the picture? Since my alloys were stolen, I'm really thinking about finding some 13" steelies from another car that look unique. Something like that would be perfect. The lower spoiler looks like the tail finisher many here have. I have a lower spoiler as well, but I think it was an FMS re-pop of a Mazda 121. I also like the plain-ish "Gt" version that looks like an "L" but has the DOHC engine. It's like a mini-muscle car.....no frills, low cost performance.
