  • question on transmission mounts for a B6T?

so I will apologies in advance for my question I have been reading all threw this form and have had a hard time finding an anchor, I thank you for your patents in advance.
I have a 1988 ford fasteva and put the mazda B6T turbo motor in it. when i first did the swop i used the stock fasteva transmission with an upgraded clutch. It worked will for a week till the transmission cracked . so i have found a transmission for the B6T motor. I am having trable getting it to sit in . I have have tried to use the B6T transmission back motor mount but it puts the entire motor 4" forward and is creating a a little bit of a space problem. especially where my exsost, down pipe, and radiator are already so tight>
if anyone has so Ideas for motor mounts or he best way to do this I would be really appreciative !
i apologies agin if this has already been addressed i will continuo to such thanks !

The mounts won't fit due to the fact that the B6 transmission will push the engine forward.

There are a heap of ideas for the mounts, but eurotiva's is the best by far. use the search and look up eurotiva's garage.

FestivaMotorSport or FMS (they are now closed, so don't bother asking) used to make a Mounting Kit that would simply allow the B6 to "Bolt-In" - with the B6 transmission, i'm not 100% certain.. i don't know how it worked. but according to their old web site (this is generated using "wayback machine"):

Festiva Motorsport offers high-performance, after-market auto parts and accessories for Ford Festiva and Aspire. We have genuine, OEM Ford auto parts for all Ford cars at discount prices JDM

7-8893-199 Festiva Twin Cam Engine Mount Kit $150.00/ea Engine mount and bracket allows installation of popular twin cam B6 engine. Competition bushing insert
this is the only reference that was available, to my knowledge.

Re: question on transmission mounts for a B6T?

That mount "kit" was for use with the stock festiva trans IIRC. It was just the passenger side mount.

If you look around and you are a little creative you could make mounts that don't even need welded. I could have but since I own a welder I chose to weld a few pieces just because. It's really, REALLY, not THAT hard. It will take a day, and that's about the bottom line..find a good hardware store and get it done.

If you find my thread for BP aspire swap, I posted good pics of the rear mount which is nothing more than 2 3/16 5x7" plates with holes drilled.
