Something unusual is going on with rockauto shipping. I tried ever possible combination of brands as I was trying to get an inner and an outer rear wheel bearing to ship from the same location. I also could not get a wheel bearing and a seal to ship from the same location. They also appear to be using FedEx ups and USPS. May be my imagination but it looks like they are doing their best to not combine items in one shipment.

I just can't take the parts stores anymore. People that don't know what they're talking about always wind up "assisting" me. Saying not using a platinum plug in a 199X or newer will cause sputtering, show me thread locker when I give them the exact Loctite part # for the gasket maker I want; just two that come to mind. RockAuto or eBay supply nearly everything I use besides simple consumables.
A lot of times you come out cheaper to check eBay with the part # and brand you find that you want. Lots of guys getting rid of old stock and what not. Just a thought.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Rockauto, ebay, internet stores, McParts stores are all merely "suppliers." They all have their place. Keep your eyes open for specials, coupons, deals, etc. and try to get things you know you'll use up or need when they are on sale. For example, any more I'll only buy brake cleaner on sale with about 15% off, and add them up to meet the minimum total and so forth.
I've gotten Autometer gauges the same way, with about 15 or 2- percent off regular prices.
Rockauto you really need to do some work sometimes to get that shipping down! If you can't seem to do that, check out your other "suppliers." Someone usually has a sale going on.
This doesn't always work, and sometimes you "need it NOW" so sometimes you'll pay full price or worse. Just the way it goes.

Did some testing using Rockauto and Autozone online ordering this morning.... and Safety Guy is right on top of things.
If your a looking for the best deals on auto parts you have to do some digging.
This morning I was able to get the Timken inner/outer rear wheel bearing to ship from the same location and the result there
when compared to Autozone for the same parts was $23.98 at Rockauto with 5% discount and no sales tax charged and 46.69 at Autozone (could not use the Autozone SAVEBIG discount because of low amount.
However when I entered a larger order for the same parts (2 Brake Drums, 2 sets of rear inner bearings, 2 sets of rear outer bearings, 2 sets of rear wheel seals, 2 wheel cylinders, and 1 Brake Drum all in one hardware kit.), the totals came to $126.70 at Rockauto (shipping included but no sales tax), and $124.03 (sales tax charged, but shipping free with SAVEBIG code).
So it all depends on home many parts you need, when your need them, the time you have to research the best deals and how convenient it is to return them.
Rockauto used to beat most all deals at the stores but not any more.

I usually try to do big orders from any place and it often has "free" shipping and a percentage off. Advance has these deals, plus coupon codes to get more money for later orders (but if you forget to use them you kinda lose).
Rockauto is great, but sometimes it just won't work to save much money. Sometimes their shipping costs just won't cooperate!

Some stores will price match.
I use my computer and the phone to see what the low paid counter guy is seeing, then I have the part laid out for me when I pick it up.Gives me the power of the net and the convenience of the parts store.Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig
