  • Starter not kicking out

    Working on bp swap feisty flywheel and starter but it doesn't want to kick out to crank thought it was starter so I went and bought new starter and no change any ideas???
    89 festiva all of a mighty 1.3 Tha Black Bullet and good ole casper got casper when I was 15 and loved em ever since

    Have you tried just running cables straight from battery to starter to see if it kicks out. If it does, then something is wrong with wiring.

      I did the starter will run but not hit flywheel

          does the solenoid kick?

          when you removed the starter, did you check for missing teeth?
          Trees aren't kind to me...

            It's my understanding that you have to use the flywheel that came stock with the transmission. E-series is festiva, F-protege/escort w/bp. E series flywheel will not work with the F trans.

                BP swap does not nessicitate a trans swap.... you can run a BP on an E series....

                  I know that, I was refering to this:

                    ^except that the BP naver came attached to an F series, it's correct

                      Yes i am doing swap identical to the np wtite up n N/A ENGINE brand new starter stock Festiva trans flywheel clutch and starter it wont grab

                          No its not on backwards I have clutch installed as well

                            is it possible the transmission shaft is not fully inserted or so trash in shaft hole.
