i thought i'd seen a thread like this before but couldn't find it. mine only has 179k miles and running strong. or at least as strong as 67 ponies can do. but this car was not treated very good before i got it. i know because my brother drove it. i was just wondering how long these cars can last stock and modded.

160K on the car, about 90K on salvaged engine from a wrecked 88. I should be good to go for about another 10 years, and by then the Festiva will be a highly desirable collector car. And I'm only half joking about that. :wink:Comment

First engine lasted 265,000 mile. #3 cylinder lost compression. It was way cheaper to replace than to rebuild. Replaced with an engine with 22,000 miles. That was in 1995, If I had know that there were other options I would have put a B6 in it. Did not know that till I found this site.
But it does still have the original carb.~Jeff

ive got 137k on the chassis...and 126k on the motor...i dont think this body will last another 20k miles though..its rusting bad....so im lookin for another one.....hopefully with a blown motor and a 5 spd.....Comment
