  • just a few quick questions

so ive been reading old posts and skimming through everything and i cant seem to find out why FMS "died" and its upsetting to hear about it, and also was wondering who i can orer things through now?, i feel like i jumped in the game to late...ive been up one side of the internet and down the other, im 5 pages deep on peoples sites about festivas on google, from people turning them into trucks to shoguns and even the odd occasional wrecked picture of one, terribly upsetting. anyone know anywhere that still has these things available?
    thanks yall,
    Ryan

Ryan, the knowledge and support of this forum, mixed with an apparent lack of business ethics on FMS's part, caused the slow death of FMS. You can still get body kits and parts through members here, new and used.

Look in the FS forum for Ernst's and Junspeed's threads. There are also several members offering everything you might need done. Bravekozak always seems to have the right part numbers and sources for OE replacement parts. If you're looking for aftermarket, you won't find much for the Festiva, but know that there are many upgrades offered by other newer, larger cars for your brake and suspension upgrades. Search here, on these forums, for your answers.

Oh yeah, and that goes for engine swaps as well.

Like I mentioned in your intro thread. I HIGHLY recommend Matt Dickmeyer ( Facebook is Dickmeyer Automotive), for ANYTHING performance related. as for body wise, like DriverOne said, look at Junspeed and Ernst for full bady kits and hoods.

Now THAT sounds like a story. What the heck happened there? Receiving money but not sending parts soon enough? Not sending parts at all? Is the FMS owner still among us? Don't want to rat them out but we need to know who we can trust.

Roger seriously dabbled in the Festy scene about 10 years ago and used to publish a veritable dream list of stock and performance parts but never updated the FMS site with regard to inventory. He would never return emails and was very difficult to reach by phone. Then if you ever did make contact you'd quickly hear that most of what you wanted was out of stock/back-ordered or no longer available. As a consequence Festy owners rarely put in large orders and slowly he stopped being contacted by all but the most persistent single item buyers. His was a classic case of 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'. Roughly 14-16 months ago he announced a huge clearance sale (claiming he was making room for new inventory) and then disappeared.
Folks like bravekozak have tracked down overseas suppliers of parts and made ordering from them a viable proposition, and there are two Phillipines forum members (Ernst and Junspeed) that are now marketing exterior parts.

I do remember shooting this guy an e-mail or two back in 2011 and never getting an answer back. Now I know why...

                    "Do what you say" matters.

No need to be sorry! I was the same as you at one point and I am sure that alot of other people here were too. You will not be disapointed with Matt's work. I am waiting on a header and he is sending me an adjustable FPR as well so those may be things you could look at too.

Once I got through to the man (which took almost a month back in 2010) I can sort of concur with what you said but at the same time only one of the 10 'wish list' items I wanted was actually in stock.
