^ dont bump the rev limiter (fuel cut off) not good for mounts or trans or anything driveline its not a rev limiter.

Its fine to do 70 in a b3 on 12s just slow down on corners but still upgrade your tires/wheels wheels when you can

Must have the rare Festiva.....or rare wrecklesness? Haha

First got her and tuned her up she saw 70-85 regularly. Saw a lot of aggressive cornering at those speeds on 12".

      I averagely cruise about 65-70.

Forgot i had a doughnut on and was at 75 and doing my usual aggressive driving...doughnut is dead as of today lol.
I also have basically no alingnment and bad alignment in the rear for some reason.

I use to regularly drive aggressively in garden of the gods when I first got her. Google map the roads and you will see the fun.
Now she is getting new front components, can't wait to feel the difference. ( front bushings have been blown throughout all events.)
      Fast....Women are fast
      Quick...Nestle is quick

      I Speak French....in German! lol.

I have averaged over 70 for the 29 mile interstate drive to work on a lot of occassions. It lowers your mileage but surprises a lot of people when you pass them in a Festiva running about 75-80.

I think most cars, especially Festivas, have a "happy speed" where everything is smooth and nothing is vibrating or buzzing.

I just drove mine 1700 miles from Virginia to Colorado. On the long flat stretches, it would hold 70 easily (2 people and a FULL load!), but when I was on rolling, hilly roads all day long, I would notice that the car really liked running at an indicated 68. The MOTOR is fine at any speed under redline - but the tires, wheels, suspension, bearings, etc were happiest just under 70. Probably with some new rear wheel bearings it would boost that up a little .....

Unless you tell me you cut the roof off and removed the glass I think this number is stretching the truth a bit much! An Imperial gallon is larger than a US gallon (4.5 litre VS 3.8 litre) and even then I can only achieve low 40s mpg (Imperial) at 70mph with a 5 speed. 50+ is doable but at a much lesser speed (50) and with a very light foot.

well that is what he said he calculated the miles he drove between fill ups... and that was from where he filled up up in Washington state and drove to canada (would not really drive around in canada) and back to the exact same gas station to fill up 47.3 mpg to be exact, and i think somtimes he would drive 55 and somtimes he would go well over 70

well, i don't have a tach. not really looking to adding one either.. between the road noise, windows down, struts creakin and motor noise, i can't really hear the rpms well. just don't want to get up to 70 and blow it up, but uh, seems like its no prob for everyone else. i still have the stock 12's w a 155 tire. im not looking to corner much or even perform miracles of speed. just don't want to die passing a school bus.

I used to bury the needle against the tripometer reset on a stock 93 efi 5 speed. The tach would continue to climb. Then the speedo needle would start bouncing once I got close to 5,000 rpms in 5th gear. I did that several times. The wipers would start hopping too.

As long as you have oil and water they can take most anything you dish out. You may have an up shift light, I did not see what your year and transmission are. Not being able hear is a draw back, driving cross country in low gear would really use some gas!

Holy cow! If I recall, 3000 rpm is 120 kph (70mph) in my 5 speed. 5000 would really be blurring the fence posts alongside the road and I figure the car'd be close to airborne!
