US WA series wiring looms

I just have a quick question for the US owners of a WA series (89-93) festiva.

am i right in the understanding that the US version of the WA series festiva's wiring harness supported EFI natively or was it after the WA series festiva that EFI was natively supported?

If I understand the question right, the wiring harness between carb Festivas 88-89', and the EFI 89' Auto, 90'-93', are two completely different wiring harnesses, the ECUs are also different.

Example would be, if you wanted to convert a carb engine to EFI, you need to swap the harness from an EFI Festiva along with the EFI ECU, and of course the intake parts.

What Torque said is what I understand to be true. I think there were three engine wire harness variations:

1. '88 and '89 carbed
2. '89 auto (single year variation using single year parts such as the distributor for example)
3. '90 to '93 FI

Don't know of any other variations out there except possibly overseas.

Yes, as long the loom came from a Festiva with EFI, because a carb wiring loom will NOT work for converting to EFI. (Obviously)

Everything from 90-93 was all EFI, there was no carb'd engines at all. Other than that, everything else is correct.

i was thinking this might be an issue, sooo, if anyone has a spare WA series EFI loom for sale as finding an WA EFI loom over here is as likely as finding a unicorn (i work even with the smallest of percentages), i can happily swap my loom over with someone who's doing a carb swap at the cost of postage.

i'll presume to think as long as it has efi within the loom, then the loom would support a b6 without an issue, swap in the new ECU and efi loom to the capri engine and i should be fine or is there more to this also?

Another question, am i better off getting a loom from the 90's series EFI to match the capri ecu in regards to the plugs because if that's the case, i'm willing to rewire my whole capri with the entire loom to have plug and play with the Capri ecu and injectors.

Sorry, i am willing to rewire the complete festiva, not the capri.

If someone can strip me out a complete 89/90-93 EFI loom from front to back, i'd be one happy man and i will pay for it.

Yeah, about that ebay Festy, I wouldn't buy that one for anything other than a parts cars anyway. That has some very nasty rust near, or possibly on those rear axle mounts, which is probably the real reason they are trying to get rid of it.

EDIT: After looking at it closer, it looks like the axle mounts are gone, at least on that one side.

EDIT2: Go put up a WTB thread in the Buying and selling section for a wiring loom, people will more likely see that you want to buy one there, then in the middle of this thread.

Also i have a space in my fusebox that is unlabelled and not terminated but room for a fuse and all that.. I was wondering if someone could take a face photo of the EFI Fusebox for me please.

Does the B3 EFI setups have a knock sensor on the loom like the B6 at all?
Will the B6 ECU be able to be used on the Festiva EFI setup without alteration of the loom at all?

The b3 harness has no connector for a knock sensor that I'm aware of. The only thing not necessarily plug-and-play for the efi+5speed harness to b6 is the injector plugs. A minor issue easily solved with splicing. The b61k (2nd gen b6) ecm will match the 2 plug harness for the 5speed efi harness. The auto Festy harness is 3 plug iirc and so is the early b6 ecm BUT the pin outs don't match. You will also need a vaf meter to match the ecm. The b61k ecm does not play well with the early b6 vaf. The b3 vaf meter will work as a stand-in but it will run rich.

You are referring to the single cam b6, correct?
