Best Degreaser for a long term oil leaker?

Hi guys, the new white gl i picked up, the guys wife lost the alt belt and continued driving to work, the head gasket looks good, so we think the head or block is cracked, so im just going to put a new motor in the car,..


This car is VERY clean, until you open the hood, looks like a long term combined valve cover and crank seal leak..

I want this baby to look brand new under the hood!<

I have tried in the past, engine brite, simple green,castrol super clean, and tons of other cleaners, not nothing seems to melt the thick sludge thats all over the place,

Any suggestions on cleaners i can try?

Castrol Super Clean is very strong used at 100%
If it is that thick ,it is surely baked on ,you will prolly need to scrape off the excess first ,small scraper,wire brush etc.
I really doubt anything is just going to knock it off cleaner wise ,even if you had something strong enough to eat into the block ,build up that thick is tough stuff ,you will just need to give the cleaner a little help with some elbow .

easy-off.
get the engine hot first, spray in a well ventilated area, let soak, hose off.
make sure to wash the residue away, and beware if you have outdoor pets. Also, avoid getting it on painted surfaces.
