  • picking up #7 tomorrow

I talked to the fella this evening and am getting it tomorrow, unless it isn't what he says it is. I will take plenty of pics and post some simple plans for it. I will end up selling My white car if this one is as good as I think. Hopefully by 4:00 it will be in my name and on the drive home.

This car is gonna have to wait longer. Passenger axle popped out on the way there in my car. Luckily was close enough to home to have someone bring tools to help pop in back in. Long story short I had to call the guy and tell him I have to pass until next week at best. It will probably be gone by then. I hope not but if it is I hope it goes to someone on here.

Someone needs to get this car NOW. He took my $800 offer. The exhaust problem isn't really a problem. He had his mechanic weld a piece into the exhaust that had a hole in it. Somehow he thinks it won't last long because maybe he doesn't understand welding or something, I guess. Said it is a little loud. This old man is very conservative so It is probably ok I'm sure.

My feeling on this car is this: Probably one of the better cars that we are going to find nowadays. $800 is a steel!! I haven't seen the car but if you talk to the guy you will understand.

Back to working on Whitey. start gathering parts and do the major swaps and be done. Drive it, love it, and sleep at night.

It was the junk yard one pass side. I was iffy about it when putting it in. The inside clip was gone or "peening" was loose (however it was put in from the factory) but I decided to try it anyway. Nothing holding the bearing parts into the housing, so the bearing cage slid in all the way letting the axle spin freely. It just tore the boot and wouldn't go. I used a hammer and vise grips to put it back in and got it home. Ordered a reman'ed one from AutoZone (shoulda done in the first place) and it is in the garage ready to install tonight after the fambly goes to bed.

I really hope someone gets that car. I won't be able to get there for a couple weeks so I am probably out.

How far is it? If you want to pay for gas money I think I'm free this friday, 36 mpg b6...if you dare to try it in the new swapped festy I'm game haha, I'll just have to get the tow bar ready in case a similar senario should occur.
