How long and wide is an Aspire? Can someone grab a tape measure and post the numbers. I have a chance to pick up an Aspire and I'm pretty sure it will fit on my trailer but it would be nice to know.
I wouldn't do this for just anybody but since I know of some of the insane projects you've had and the chance that you may well document something cool I went out and measured my aspire ASAP!
Overall 13' long, about 100" from the front to rear tires, and 5'3" wide.
I think I could squeeze it on a 5' wide trailer with short rails, the body bows out.
Remember to account for any different wheels and wider than normal tires. Switching from stock wheels (+45mm offset/4.5" wide) and 165/70-13s to say, +35mm and 5.5" wide (like my Estrellas) would add an inch or so. Wheels like Matt has on Fiona would add even more--lots more!! :p

'89L "Muttstiva," now a storage bin, future trailer project
The measurements were from babyspire, 97 aspire with protege alloys, pretty close to stock. I towed peaspire home on a 5' 6"x14 trailer. (iirc) there wasn't enough room to open the door so I had to crawl out the window, and there really wasn't much room to spare side to side.
Matt, That's how I got the dent near the fuel door on my Festiva. Was getting out of the window after loading it onto the trailer in NC, and tripped on the way out and fell back into the car (don't ask). Owned it for 15 minutes and it now has a permanent dent. lol
fujioko, be careful hauling it. Remember, no dents. lol
Haha holy crap! I heard of a fiero smokey unick did something similar with but it was a total new intake manifold and used steam to atomize the fuel I think?? Made it a high HP 100+mpg car! Can't wait to see an 80+++mpg aspire, for sure a good place to start!!! Good luck, hope you get it!
Is a Plymouth horizon and dodge omni the same car?!?! I have a buddy that just bought a horizon dirt track car and know where a couple omnis are sitting if the parts will interchange.
Well, apparently the Aspire fits in the trailer with no issues.
It was stored inside a barn for a few years and was covered with a thick layer of dust. It started to rain while we were loading it on to the trailer and the "barn find" dust started to wash off. I really liked the way it looked with the dust on it.... oh well.
The seller said the car would start up with a jump, but unfortunately the battery was too far gone to jump start the car.
Anyway, I put a battery in it when I got home and it started right up. The lifters were a bit noisy, but they should settle down after a while.
The engine needs a cam cover gasket and probably a timing belt for good measure.
