  • US average fuel economy

I read in the paper today that the average fuel economy for all the vehicles sold in the US for the past year is only 21 mpg!! Honda was highest with a 24.2 mpg average, Ford was only at 19.5 mpg! Also an article speculated that $100 for a barrel of oil would probably happen in the near future. Can you imagine how hard a Festiva will be to find when that happens? I think SUVs and trucks will be hard to unload along with performance cars... kinda of like the 70s all over.

1995 F-150 Extra Cab and it was free!
    1991 Festiva L, Surf Blue with A/C
1995 Jeep Cherokee 2wd 5 speed 4.0 and it was free!
1993 Aqua Festiva and it was cheap!
1994 Brake Swap and it was cheap!
1969 Ford F100 Big Block Ranger and it was free! (coming 2/12)

It already is like that around here,Every dealer that you drive by ,has nothing but large suv's ,4x4 trucks , I see more and more smaller cars being drove by people that said they would never drive a small car.
And it is very hard to find a Festiva around here for sale ,I have never seen one in the wheels and deals ?

i thought the same about my jeep, 18-25 mpg. but maybe that's because we own a festiva, 45 is nice. i'm surprised the averages are that high for fuel consumption. here in montana i bet almost half of the vehicles are 15 mpg or less. there's still those people though that drive 85 on the interstate all the time just to say look at me i can afford to waste gas.
