I am trouble shooting the heat on my 88 festiva. I have the lower working, coolant lines hooked up but no heat. Also my fans are hard wired with a toggle switch. Was thinking the coolant sensor in the rad is bad is there any way to test it or just change it?

If you don't put it on defrost or floor vents the heat won't blow hot...

Make sure the heater core isn't plugged. If the car ever had a leaking radiator and someone put stop leak in it, that stuff tends to end up in the heater core and plug it. Take both hoses off and try backwashing it with a garden hose. Go easy on the water volume when you start in case the heater core is totally plugged. A cooling system never has more than about 15 psi and a garden hose is probably over 40 psi. You don't want to "blow up" your heater core.
