  • Boostpack battery replacement.. weight reduction on the cheap.

here is an interesting video that i found on youtubes that actually shows how to make a boostpack for your car.. instead of having a heavy battery, you can have a little tiny thing that allows you to start your car.

black magic, voodoo, you be the judge.

and here is an update to that video and he actually upgraded the pack itself and it seems to improve the length of time the charge is held by the capacitors..

looks to be something of a worthwhile fuel saving/weight reduction device.

Did you watch the one with the 6 bigger ones that is "normal battery size" that's like 6 - $6 capacitor tubes? Its within the same guys channel. That one looks really promising. And he said it still holds a good 10 even after weeks of driving.
I'd like to see something awesome come of this to try out in a festiva

Would the alternator not serve as a recharge for this as it would a conventional battery?

^And he doesn't seem concerned at all about touching both terminals with his one hand, and there were some moments when he was showing off the micro version that made me cringe too. Too many close encounters with getting juiced, I guess. Maybe I'm just extra careful.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

as long as he doesn't produce the moonshine bottle, you're safe.. if at very worse, like he said, get a container to house the entire unit and make it waterproof as well... design is kind of like those battery boxes you see from ebay and the like for relocating the battery.. three of these and you'd be rather good for power. i think it's parallel you'd need to wire it up so you'd have a constant 12v, but would last a lot longer.
