  • F series tranny CABLE on what cars???

    Hey FF People,

    I'm still working on on a B8-ME with F tranny swap. I managed to get my hands on a B8 + tranny for 200$, but the tranny is hydro and I won't be able to make a bracket like Damkid did.
    So can anyone tell me what cars / years had a CABLE F series transmission?

    Thanks,
    J-S

          Really? Dang..I thought since the Cable G series came on the Capri xr2 they would use a cable on the non xr2.

              Nope, sorry

              I have an F series in the shop from a Capri and it has a slave cylinder attached to the side. It would have been nice if they had followed that logic though.

                        if this is any help, here are a list of engines and what transmissions they had/have.

                        Mazda/Ford FWD Cars - F or G series.

                        B5 = F
                        B6 = F
                        B8 = F
                        BP (95-98) = F
                        ZM = F
                        FP = F

                        E5T = G
                        B6T = G
                        B6D = G
                        KF = G (different bellhousing to fit V6)
                        KL = G (different bellhousing to fit V6)
                        K8 = G (different bellhousing to fit V6)
                        BP (90-95) = G
                        FS = G

                        got this little bit extra information as well

                        Thanks Ryan. That helps a bit, So I have an F series gearbox. Still need to know which Lasers/mazda's have a F series Gearbox to suit my mighty twin cam ,non turbo Capri with hydraulic clutch. Dianne

                          Great stuff guys thanks a lot!
                          M3ntal, would you be willing to ship to Montreal, Canada? If so, yes I'm willing to buy, but I would need dimensions to know what shipping would be like. Send me a PM with your ZIP.
