  • guage cluster w/ tach, intermittent wipers, and headlight

so i went to the junkyard today to get the rest of the parts i wanted off of the car i bought. well, turns out since i hadn't been there for almost a month they crushed it. i was pissed but he said he pulled the door and stuff for me and that there was another festiva back there i could take a look at. i figured i'd take a quick look but wasn't expecting much. but to make a long story short, it turned out to be a 88 lx. for $50 i got this.

made my day turn out pretty good considering all these parts are around $50 apiece. if anyone can think of anything they might want off of it i can find out a price. oh, it has power mirrors too but the glass is broken. anyone know if you can replace the glass?

And there is no lens on the cluster. Do you need the lens? I think I have a spare tach cluster lens, and a white face for one.

yeah, the light turned out worse than the one i have. gonna toss it. it's all rusted and most of the reflective stuff is pealed. it was so dirty inside i couldn't tell until i cleaned it. yeah, i do need a clear cover if you had one. the one w/ it was busted and i broke mine trying to drill a hole in it. now i have my broken one installed with those little tabs broken off. can you just switch out the faces? i may be interested in that also. i love having the tach though. piece of cake to swap especially with the how-to. i think the wiper/signal should be easy. just gotta get a steering wheel puller. i think i fought with the steering wheel on the junker for an hour before i asked if there was an easy way. then two minutes later he had it off. my stupidity.

if you switch off your orange faces for the white I would be interested in the orange ones.

I've removed a couple of Mazda steering wheels. Just take off the center nut, grab opposite sides of the wheel, and wiggle to your heart's content. You should have it off within two or three minutes, tops. I don't think mine took more than a minute.

but some may be rusted on a lot tighter and harder to get off

I would loosen the nut but leave it on the last couple of threads. Then pull like crazy. That's how I've done it in the past. Keeps you from having a steering wheel in your mouth.
