Somebody smack the wheel against a curb real, real hard? -
i had this happen to me on a set of temkins. i hurdle a little noise fro my rear wheel pulled it to inspect and found a chunk missing from the race with no damage to the bearing and the inside race and bearing looked great.
i never figured out what happened but autozone swaped it out under warrantie and never had a problem agin .Comment

Only one roller is bad on the cage. And 2 spots on race of material missing. Weird. All greased and such, no hot spots or discoloration. Just started to make a hole. Been making noise past 2000 miles or so. Recently eyebrow raising hooking eway curves @ 80. Heh.. Probably a poor cast with too much carbon in the alloy=brittleness. Oh well. $4.
