There are other sites and forums that I follow and the only time I have to log in is when I want to post something, like this. I do not have to log on just to look, unlike this site.

There are other sites out there that you have to log in to view forums and some that you even have to register an account for before you can look at anything. Many inundate you with ads if you are viewing posts as a guest and only get removed if you register as a user. It's not uncommon and just depends on how the board is set up or what BB platform they are running.

I have found this to be an issue too. I tell a lot of people at the race track and at car shows to check out this site ( to see all the different modifications and what not) and many of them are turned away by the need to log in. It's really kind of sad, but true. I know it keeps the site working smoother for the actual members, but it would be nice if outsiders got a little teaser to encourage them to join.

It really is no big deal to register and join most forums. My problem is remembering passwords. That's where I perpetually get hung up. But I hate it when an unknown 'know-it-all' disrupts a thread. 99 times out of a 100 they're only looking for attention and/or to try to sell a silk purse (out of a sow's ear). A specific teaser upon entry to FF.com is actually a great idea, but then again who has the inclination, ability and spare time to devote to a stunt like this?

I believe it was the difference between being a private site vs. public site

          1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
          1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
