I use it all the time , Walmart does not sell it ,
O'Reillys ,Autozone ,Farm and Fleet, Parts America
I always take off the small vac line that runs from the intake plenum to the solenoid on the firewall ,take off that hose at the solenoid ,while the engine is running ,let it suck the seafoam out of the can ,try not to let it die ,you may need to keep the R's up a little , 1/2 to 3/4 of the can, try to loads it up good right before the end ,you can either let the car die on it's own or shut it off , let it sit for 30 min. then start it ,drive it like you just stole it  . You can also just dump it into your tank.
Do this on a hot engine only .
I don't know about the noisy ring gear , are you talking about in the trans axle .I would use Lucas synthetic additive for that ,for Manual trans and differentials.
    I hope that helps

It works wonders for cleaning the intake. It also makes wonderfully huge clouds of smoke on a really dirty engne. Perfect for annoying your neighbors.

i love this stuff i use it on my car like every other oil change. anything with a decent amount of miles will benefit from it. i use it on my toyota and run it through a hose on the throttle body. its a wise idea to use long piece of vacuum hose because most of the ones in my engine bay are too short to reach the bottom of the can. my car smokes pretty good i couldn't see the street lamp while i was using it. you need to keep on the throttle while using it so the car wont die. after use the idle smooths and the car seems to be accelerate smoother. it can be used in the gas tank and can be used in oil also but ive only done it through the intake. i pick my stuff locally at a farm and fleet. my friends have also benefited with their cars a 91 turbo mr2, 98 miata, 95 240sx and a 91 s10. they have all noticed a better performance from using this.

also works great when you change your oil. you get your engine to operating temp, shut it down, add the required amount of seafoam to the engine oil, let it idle for about 5-10 minutes, then change the oil.

Anyone have a picture of the hose on a EFI Festiva that they suck the Seafoam up with? I'm a little confused on that. I added some to my gastank today and I think I needed it more so into my intake. Pics would help!

There is a hose that goes from the top of the intake to the solenoid above the wiper motor. Just pull it off the solenoid and stick it in the bottle. Just suck a little bit at a time so the engine doesn't stall.

                  I love this stuff.

Every car I've owned got a bottle poured through it.

It really works - I went from 29 to 38 mpg in one bottle!

I was going to buy some of this stuff too. I have a '89 L manual transmission carbed. Do I have to take the whole air filter assembly off to do this? Is there a hose I can use to suck the seafoam through or just pour it down the carb?

On a carbed car ,yes you can pour it in the carb ,and any vac. line that leads to the intake ,or the base of the carb .
Just feed it in then when you are close to the end of the can ,load it up ,then shut it off ,let it set for 30 min. the resart it and clear it out .

                        ...

I ran mine half in the crankcase and half in the tank. The engine looked NEW when I took the head off of it about a month later(tossed the T-belt). She had a oil consumption problem before that too - not anymore.

Yes you will need to take off the top of the air cleaner, you need to be able to see the carb throat.
Any vac. line that goes to the carb ,even the brake booster hose if you have to , I have done that one before
