  • B3 efi cross member

Any of you guys have a clear photo of the b3 efi cross member?
Is it very different to the b3 carb one?

Trying to use a b3 carb one for my b6t conversion and the g series is being pushed out by Tue steering arm bracket.

Just wondering if the efi x member will place things in a more beneficial position

carb and EFI units are the same... depending on the transmission. autos and manuals have different crossmembers and neither will give you a better position. you have to mod the trans and then also LOWER the rear 2 mounts by ~ 2.5mm (longer bolts and collets required).

What sort of trans mods are we talking about?

There are a million ways to skin that cat, and it seems like everyone does it a little different. In the swap we finished up last week we dropped the cross member (front and rear) by .5" and still had to clearance the front pass side of the member to allow the trany to sit low enough. Also as long as you lower the xmember .5" or less the stock bolts are plenty long enough (at least they were in our case).

          Thanks for the replies.

If anyone has any photos or links readily available. Please post. I'm happy to grind away. But I'd like to know how far I can take it before it is a problem.
