  • Performance ideas for a B3

So, I finally convinced my fiancee to let me do a swap in my 97 Aspire, under one condition...The current engine has to be on it's way out. So with that being said, since I'm not allowed to put a bigger engine in at the moment, what are some things that I can do to up the performance of my B3. Keep in mind that I'm sort of a novice when it comes to Engine work. Thanks for any advice everyone!

          Dickmeyer.

I installed his header and fuel pressure regulator.

And it gave me quite significant power increase.

The cone filter intake filter actually had lost me power so I kept the stock airbox and got me a drop in k&n filter 33-2222.

          And in combo.

          It is great.

Next step is a cam and a full performance rebuild.
          Running 40psi.....in my tires.

Pump it full of nitrous and turbo it, drive floored at all times, shift at 6k+.

                          Then put in a BP.
White '92 GL 5-speed BP, G series, Aspire/Rio swapped, "Nancy"
White '89 LX 5-speed, Aspire swapped, Weber carb
                          1988 LX 5-speed
                          1993 L 5-speed B8, E series, Aspire/Rio swapped

I'll wager she'd think a B8 was the same engine. Tell her they changed the valve cover, etc, on newer models.
