  • LKQ Return Policy?

Anyone on here ever have to return an engine to LKQ?

I picked up a B2200 engine last Thursday and after tearing it down last night it isn't a usable core. I think I got the last good 2200 they had so I may have to go to PAP next. Also, I gave them a core so it'll be interesting to see if they give me a core back to take to PAP, let me keep the current engine for a core, or just refund my money minus the core charge and take the engine back.

I know they have a 30 day return policy so it'll be interesting to see what they do for the core return. I may just throw another engine on the truck to use for a PAP core since I don't know what LKQ will do.

OK, so took the engine back to LKQ and they refunded my money no questions asked

I asked about the core and they said that basically they consider it gone and pretty much they just bought a core from you. So if you return a part for warranty you get a refund and keep the money they paid for the original core. I'm assuming the core would count towards another engine if you had to return one for warranty but the guy's English wasn't that great so I decided not to get into too many hypotheticals with him

One more thing to note: LKQ gives you a cash refund whereas Pull A Part only gives you "store credit". So if you needed a specific part and got the last one on the yard at PAP you'd be up the creek until the car you needed with the part showed up at the yard again. One more reason to go to LQK instead of PAP.

Also, a big thanks to Justin (SVOFANATIC) for helping me pull ANOTHER engine and trans today
