  • festiva hatch light

i was wondering what festivas came w/ the hatch light? i've never seen or heard of it and today took one out of a 88 lx. it was on the passenger side under where the speaker goes but closer to the hatch. haven't had a chance to see if i have the connections there yet though.

You also need the latch from the hatch for it to work properly. The latch serves as the switch. The rest of the wiring is already in the cars.

The wiring wasn't in my 90. When I put in the light I had to use the 88 hatch harness.

              wiring was in my 91...

forget about the latch IMHO, the on/off switch works just as well (don't forget it on tho :p)

i just checked and my 92 has the wiring although on side is really corroded even though its never been used. i grabbed the wiring w/ the light though so i'll try and see if i can splice it in.

Hook the + side to your cars hot wire, it will have 12 v when the key is on. hook the - side to the ground wire you cut off teh doner car, and ground it to a screw in the area. this way it will work w/o teh hatch, the ground wire in your car will not ground it b/c it goes to the harness in the hatch wich isn't grounded unless you have the hatch switch...

the one wire that is corroed is the + wire b/c it has current even when there is no light.... if it gets moist (right behind the light it always does) it corrodes...
