  • Good Deal?

I'm new to Festivas and this forum, but I am looking for a reliable little car for commuting and running around town. I really like to style of the Festiva, and I was wondering what your opinion of this posting is.

    Thanks

This one has been on Auto Trader for months. Check for steering, oil leakage and rust. Might be ok. Nice price,

I can't find it on Auto Trader at all. Do you have a link?

Looks like a nice price for a GL with very little rust showing from the outside. It's a shame it's an auto though.

It's been painted to hide the rust. Unscrew the driver's sill plate, peel back the carpet and check. If they won't let you do that, walk away.

thomscottson, are you in Pittsburgh? price looks good but definitely look for incurable rust first before anything.

Good price if it is all together. $700 would probably be a great offer. The worst they can do is say no...

Thanks everyone. I haven't tried to look at it yet, but I would definitely be sure to thoroughly check for rust. I wondered if it had been painted too.

What I noticed was rust and auto tranny. The autos are only 3-speeds, so hi revs on the hwy = poor mileage (in the 30s). Less of a factor for city driving tho. If not too rusty, and you are handy with tools, the price seems reasonable. Use the rust to talk the price down a bit. Offer $800.

According to the ad it has power steering and delay wipers. Hmmm....... Make sure it has those, if not offer a lower price.
