By the way, I owned my Aspire for 8 years before the transmission blew up. At that time there were no replacements available. I love these little cars.
i really love them Aspires just keep loosing gears in my 5 speed i'm now on my what? 5th tranny? Somebody working at the KIA Motor Co. in 1993 designing 5 speed transmissions should have been fired... KIA should not be allowed to make their own trannys for Mazda engines... and i say their 5 speed trannys to be the worst peace of junk in the history of ever! on the other hand, it was nice that they still let Mazda make the auto tranny in the aspire and not have KIA do it... win for us

sorry, but that's just my 2 copper Lincolns....

Personally, that list looks more like fun then tough work. If you can find a festy at a junk yard, you will be able to find most of the things you need, for cheap. It is fun to make the car yours and see it get better and better! I'd recommend sticking to the site and Junk Yards for most parts. Ebay's prices are HIGH (sometimes on here they can be high too, and junk yards for that matter ha!).

I had 164,000 miles on my Aspire when the tranny went out. Had to sell it since there was no transmissions to be had anywhere around here.
Seems there are many many items to be fixed and touched up so there are plenty of leaning time for my daughter and her car. I will do nothing without
her sitting next to me or doing it herself..
