Hi I am looking to buy a Festiva and this is available right now on my local craigslist. Is this a good deal or should I hold out and wait for another one. I am in no rush to purchase a vehicle. https://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/4142117298.html

The absolute first thing I would look for is RUST under the car. Look carefully in the rear along the rear beam mounts. Up along the door sills from the rear wheels to the front wheels. If possible, take it and get it up on a lift so you can check out the bottom of the car as good as you can.Jerry

Miles are low. Mine has 336,000 on it. Price would depend on the condition and any rust issues.Jerry

Looks pretty straight from 10' away in that tiny picture haha. Is it a good deal? Not really, the price however is normal for these days. If there is little to no rust then I'd say it is worth it! The money you will save driving a Festiva will quickly pay for itself.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seller sez interior is 5/10. You can get lots of useful parts from other Mazdas in the JY to upgrade it beyond even the LX or GL trims, like variable intermittent wiper switch, much better front seats, Aspire brakes, Escort dome light, wheels/tires.
Mileage good, check for rust; I think he has left himself a little wiggle room on the price.Last edited by TominMO; 11-14-2013, 08:37 AM.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

What they said.
If it's as rust free as it looks, and truly 125K, and runs well, I think it's worth it. Start by offering around $1200 thouigh, if everything checks out. See how low he will go.

Yep, growing up in Cape May, I know RUST is a MAJOR ISSUE. If no rust, then $1500 isn't so much. It's worth what you're willing to pay for it!! Oh, and I hated those Jersey Inspections!!!LOLChuck

If it checks out I'd say the price looks good. But I'd still offer like $1000 and expect to meet in the middle somewhere.
