Oh MYYYYY local law enforcement!

SO i got pulled over today. By a statey on my way to work, i knew i wasnt speeding i was going five under, so i wondered what it could be. For those of you who read in the area, someone broke into my car and shafted a bunch of stuff including my registration. So after a quick chat with the officer about what happened she check the computer and sure enough i was all legit. Now heres my question, can they fine me at all if i dont have my registration, as long as its legit in their database? cause she said ill get pulled over everytime, which i think is a lie, cause the sticker still sez 06 on the back, so i got time, i think they were only checking cause its first of the month. Sorry for the long post but im trying to figure out if i should re register, the cars only on the road for another 3 weeks. (Sad i know , a festy off the road) Thanx

P.S. i think the real reason she bagged me is cuz my avaitors were bigger than hers 8)

Under the circumstances ,you made a report so they know what happened ,
It is still a law ,that the registration must be in the vehicle at all times , just like you drivers lic. must be in your possesion when driving .
So you lic . plate says 06 , but what is the month ,is it expired ?
You need to go to the DMV and report what happened , and have the reissue a new registration .
Aviators ?

yeah the plate says 06, but there no month listed on massachusettes stickers so theres know way they would know i saw 7 state cops today on my normal route, they must just be lookin for people with 06 stickers and see if the reg expired at the end of July. Everything is reported, so no sweat there. But im wondering if they could fine me or not, im gettin a copy of my police report in case i get stopped again. i wouldnt make sense to reregister cause i only got three weeks til its off the road, and id hafta take the day off from work to re register it, so id wind up payin more than if i got a fine. as for the avaitors, she was totally jealous, ive got the millitary issue ones, there HUGE!! :shock: YES!!

Why are you taking it off the road in 3 weeks ?
I don't think it would cost much just for a new piece of paper ,for the proof that goes in you glove box. you would not need to buy new plates ,and for the sticker , it got cabbaged onto also right ,I am not sure what a replacement sticker is , being that you have proof that you had it .
I am still curious about these aviators , I am not sure we are talking about the same thing , pics ? PM me

the DMV isnt open on weekends up here in massachusetts, so if i take a day off from work i lose that much money, plus what it costs me at the registry another fifty beans i believe. im going to college in three weeks, so i wont need a car, and with it sitting ill have time to plot my b6t or BP swap :twisted: . as for the avaitors, they are sunglasses that you always see military and police types wearing, but mine are the 75mm diameter lenses that i bought at a military shop, and they were way bigger than the stateys today. JEALOUS i tells ya

Your plates did not get taken ,all you need is the paper that goes with them , here it is like $10.00 for a replacement .

yeah in ct you need your registration. My tags and reg where not up to date in my car even though every thing was ok. The officer let me off with a warning but he said i can get a 110$ ticket for not having the registration in the car :-/

do you really need a drivers license?
I've gotten away with a photo ID & my license # which is memorized.

Yes it is the law that your lic . be on your person ,when driving , unless they just don't care. :lol:
