  • I found a 2002 KiaRio for cheap... what parts are good to use?

Hey, sorry to bug everyone with these always asked questions. I am making a point to call it a KiaRio so it will hopefully turn up in the search function when someone looks for it in the future.

From what I understand, the following parts are useable:

    Front Knuckles (4x100 bolt pattern)
    Struts
Fancy Strut Tops with Bearings (Allows better turning)

Transmission (Not as good of quality as other earlier made in Japan transmissions. Made in Korea.)

Any other parts I am missing that are good to use off these vehicles? I have the ability to pick one up with a shot engine for all of 250$. Are the wheels to wide to use, or are they useable? I am looking of matching the KiaRio Transmission up to a 1.8 BP - is this a smart idea? I understand they have a higher gear ratio and wear out sooner. Thanks for any help.

    -Tom

Evidently some interior bits should work with minor mods. Such as the center console. About all I know. :p

Wheels shouldnt wear sooner unless your alignment is off...unless your talking about the tranny? You can replace your 5th gear with a probe 5th gear.

I typed that out poorly! I meant to state that I wanted to match the transmission to a BP engine. Thanks for the replies!
