Tail Light Gaskets Available

tail gaskets have been hard to find. not available from ford or 4GREEN. you can be a caveman and use silicone or get these mazda ones from Japan. i never noticed but these gaskets are actually thinner in the 4 corners where the mounting studs go through. i got these through AMAYAMA. about $8.50 ea. shipping would be harsh for just one set but maybe somebody wants to be a group-buy hero?

I've used foam craft sheets from fabric/hobby shops like Michaels. They come in various thicknesses up to around 1/8" IIRC. They seem to work pretty well. One regular sized sheet should do a pair of gaskets, and they don't cost very much. Use a coupon and they cost a little less.

We're talking under $2.00 for a L and R pair of tail gaskets, plus no shipping charges if you go to the store yourself!

I used an old gasket as a template. Works well enough though it was falling apart.

A Steel rule die is going to be pretty pricey! Also, just so you guys know again. I work for a Gasket Fabrication company. We have a couple C&C's. I have traced out and cut myself a pair of tail light gaskets. If anyone is in need of gaskets, especially if you know how to draw and can send me a .DXF file. I'll quote it...

We get them made for where I work, and they would run around 150 Canadian for one. I assume it would be reversible?

I should mention the shop we use is old school with little overhead. Very well priced.

PhoenixSHO, so how well does this material work? Definitely need new gaskets. My left one is shot. Water and dirt get in the tail-light all the time.

Its perfect , it seals pretty good , it sits good too. It crushes well , and when you remove the light later , it still is flawless (not cumbling or anything) and you can remove it.
