Well, back in November and before if I let my car set for couple days and then went out and started it, it would knock for couple minutes and that depended on how cold it had been. After reading about seafoam I got ready to change oil in it and put in 8 ozs and drove it around for about hour and let it get good and warm and then let it sit for couple days, started it up and let engine get good and warm and changed oil and added rest of bottle of seafoam(8ozs) and drove it around for about 30 miles and made sure oil got good and warm. Well, I don't drive it that much anymore since I retired cause wife has arthritis and fibermyalge pretty bad and truck is more comfortable for her but I still go out and start it. Well I hadn't started it for about month now cause it has been cold and it got up to 64 today so I went out and started it and you know, there was absolutely no knock and engine did not smoke at all. I am now a firm believer in that seafoam for cleaning all oil ports if you use it right. It calls for 1 oz per quart but I used 8 ozs before changing oil and used last 8 ozs when I put in new oil. I will be getting my tax refund here in couple days and I'm also going to get a new windshield in it. The only problem I have now with it is when I get between 60 to 70 mph the front end shakes a little and once I get above 70 its ok so I'm thinking tires need balanced. I had it aligned about year ago and tires have good rubber on them and are only worn a little bit on inside tread but most of them are pretty much same. Im going to put back on front and vice versa to see if that makes any difference. Any suggestions??

maybe bad ball joints?
If aligment is good, and they still wear uneven, then it is the balljoints, or far less likely, a bent frame.1991 Ford Festiva BP (Full Aspire/Rio Swap) (337k Miles) (Around 95k Engine)

I got the car in 2004 and in about 2007 or 08 I replaced ball joints, sway bar bushings and upper and lower tie rods plus put in inner and outer bearings since I had everything apart so I hope ball joints haven't gone out again. I'll know little more once I switch front and rear rims. Im also thinking about going to 13". I can lift front end up and grab top and bottom and there is no wiggle nor is there any wiggle when I move wheels side to side.Last edited by milehighbear; 02-16-2014, 07:44 PM.

I had new brakes put on the fronts about 6 weeks ago. Tire shop rotated the rear tires to the front since the rears had a lot more tread left on them. After they swapped back to front/front to back my car wobbled noticeably between ~ 22-30 mph. Above ~ 30 mph there was no wobble at all. Had them move the fronts back to the rear and the wobble went away completely. Strange, but maybe that might help you?88L - 'Twistiva' - 'The Fusion of Man and Machine'
