  • To Downsize, or Not to Downsize?

Ok, I have been having this debate with my self for quite some time, and I though who better to help me than all of my friends here at the forum. I am contemplating downsizing Festiva wise. Don't get me wrong, I cant get enough of them, but I am a "save em all" type person and having 6 (I know thats a very small number to some of you) that I am planning a major over hall on has just gotten a little overwhelming, not on their own but having 6 Festiva projects on top of too many other projects to count is gonna have me busy till the grave. Questions? Comments? any advice welcome

it's hard to choose which one to keep and which ones to let go of, my wife made the decision for me when I was in the hospital
back in 2012, went in with12 and came out with just 3 hers, my sons and my favorite Blue.

92 GL was red automatic Ms Va., now Zinc Yellow

I have two and I already find that somewhat overwhelming. I don't know how you find the space/time/money for six.

I have 4 now. 2 runners. Then there's the Escort. In theory it was supposed to make things simpler. Surely one would always be OK. Turns out it just creates more projects, so they're all never quite OK.

I'll be down-sizing soon. Watch the FS section for a beater shortly.

Downsize. Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time to share the wealth.

I only have one and I am content.

The only thing stopping me from cutting a few of them loose is not taking a financial loss on them, but its knowing that they aren't worth much to anyone else and that they will be eventually junked sooner rather than later. I dont mind taking a loss on something if I am giving a screaming deal to someone who will get lots of use out of it.

I keep 1. I've had to sell sweet minty ones w/a/c. You just have to find the right buyer.... Plenty of people would love to have 1 of these cars but they are pretty rare in good shape I know if I could find some cheap festys I could find good homes for them.

I not committed to getting rid of them yet but If I do, finding the right buyer will be key. I've got one that would make someone a great project, like for a swap or something, a good shell, and a couple others that would be middle of the road cars for commuting.

Remember parts are getting harder to come by. Keep your favorate/nicest one. Keep the worst one or two for parts. Sell the rest. Get them running. Put a for sale sign in the window. Drive it till someone buys it.

if you decide to unload, i am looking for a nice shell for myself. and i have an older guy who wants a get in and go car. so if anyone has a turn key, rust free car , let me know. flying in and driving home is not out of the question so if your far away- no problem.
