Okay I just went to go buy some at autozone and they only had the kind in an aerosol spray. Is that the right kind? By what I've heard, you're supposed to pour it down the carb. IS it the right kind if not I'll go to another parts store.

Try O'Reillys , Parts America , Advance , Farm and Fleet if you have that .
The pour type is good for sucking thru a vaccum hose , or dousing the carb . I have never used the aerosol type ,but It would work in small areas , I just don't think you can get the volume out of the spray vs pour , to load it up .

I bought the pour type yesterday at Advance Auto, if they are in your area.

Okay I finally got some and as soon as the car gets back I'm going to do it. It's not going to do anything like prevent the car from starting again, In other words it's not going to make it break down, right? And it says I can use the brake booster line to feed it through or the PCV valve to suck it through. I have a carbed engine. It also says to use a third of the can. Is that all I should use? I was also going to put some into the oil.

It won't do anything but help.
I have used as much as a half of a can , rest in the tank.
pour some in the carb throat, some the the PCV valve , some thru the booster hose .
Just try to do the all close together in time , then shut it off for 20-30 min and restart it and drive it , read the directions .
You will notice a differance right away !!

one more question, What barrel on the carb do I pour it down? Also This is what my carb looks like when the car is off and when it's idling. Is'nt the plate supposed to be down?

Pour it down the barrel with the butterfly at the top, you may need to rev it a bit so it doesn't stall. That plate is the choke it is only closed when it is cold.

^^ That barrel looks like 1 out of the 4 on my truck
I have never seen a carbed one , I did not realize they were that tiny .

That's the whole carb right there in the pic. What do you mean the "butterfly"? The butterfly nut? If so the nut goes in between. If your talking about where the plate is, okay. Sorry I'm new to the automotive repair and maintenence world.

The butterfly is in the top of the pic , that is the primary venturi,
The bottom is like the secondary venturi , both feed the intake , just pour it in where the little butterfly /flapper is or both it does not matter

                          PackRat,
Yes that's what a Festiva carb looks like. Do you think if I put a Quadrojet on mine and turn the breather over it would sound as good as the old Chevys did?

So is the throttle hard to get to? Because I can't find the thing to rev it up when I will do it. I see a cable run under some stuff but I can't get my hand to it.
