  • Bought a 2014 Mirage - Will no longer be a Festiva owner.

I broke down and bought a 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage 5 speed. Probably the closest thing that exists to the Festiva that you can buy new (at least in the USA). I live in an apartment complex, and so a place to work on my car, along with time to repair/recondition things is pretty limited. Really enjoying the relative luxury. I have a coworker that is interested in continuing to restore the Festiva, so it will remain in good hands.

Thank everyone on this forum for their help and entertainment!

Nope, but I did like the Festiva enough to buy the closest thing I could find to it.

Can't say I like the look of the Mirage at all.

Much rather have a Mazda 2. That is the closest thing to a modern day Festiva, because it is basically the descendant of the Festiva.

                Mazda 2 = Mazda Demio, 1st Generation Demio = Mazda 121 = Festiva Mini-Wagon.

Well except a mazda 2 and Kia Rio are both bigger, and more expensive, and get worse mileage. I did like the Mazda 2 better, but with the extra cost to buy and own it didnt make sense. As far as styling, well I liked the Chevy Sonic styling the most, but again, it came down to dollars. This is how I see it as closest to a Festiva I could find - Function over form, low price, low operating costs, assembled in a pretty unusual country for a US vehicle at the time they were built.

Anyway, I have not put the festiva up for sale yet, so I am still an owner for the time being.

The 2 and Rio are like an Escort as the Mirage is to a Festiva.

                          And don't be a stranger!

Be sure and tell us how it feels when you get your first door dings. I seriously doubt they came standard like on a Festiva! :p
