I had the trany swapped w/new clutch (was a 4sp.) and while mechanic had it I had him replace the rack, tie rod ends, both axles, new shifter and linkage bushings, motar mounts, trans mounts, and 4 like new tires I bought at the tire yard. you just don't know how lose everything is till you have new stuff installed. lol.
I was getting 36mpg around town and I hope to make it 40 since I like to run in 5th after I get up to 35mph.
I do know 5th gear is going to be a big plus.
luck must be with me - I found a set of almost new 12" tires at a local used tire place off a metro and got them for 100 bucks. as hard as finding ANY 12's are I should go play the lotto today.
