          not even the legal limit

I'm a second owner too; reminding me when as a newbie here, I'd been a "lurker" which still seems a role I'd like playing with the creep selling me the car: From a brake malfunction causing me to get a DUI a few years later, when a recent brake job they'd done had been a selling point; a jet helicopter mechanic in the Coast Guard in Eureka, who'd begun acting paranoid when I'd started to mention my own mechanical interests suggesting a reasonable prowess-when he'd been telling me nonsense, like ignoring changing the timing belt.

I sure hated and still hate that DUI, which probably was a fluke; I set myself up for, by refusing a blood test which is legal after a breath test-which was double the legal limit. The system is incredibly predatory for people who get caught drinking and driving; and I got snared by my own koan about anything like that, of "don't get caught."

          DON'T GET CAUGHT

The only exception; I'm part of California's "catch and release program:" Californicating the universe; or "funication" as that's now being called by wags on Thank Jah It's Friday, a great show to hear on-line on occasion if not in the region. Nine to ten each Friday morning; combining regular hosts with guests and phone callers, in attempts at light-hearted takes on local, regional, national and international news events.[http://www.kmud.org/

Over more than ten years, I'd become one of the regular and well enough tolerated phone callers; so that I'd get recognized in public by people hearing my voice which was strange and particularly since they'd seem to find me a lot more likable in person than the role I played as sort of straight man to the show's hatchet man, I had to get with a lucky zing before they cut me off since I'm too long winded otherwise and not a familiar of anyone in control.

I think the experience greatly altered my persona; from self confidence to halting, stumbling speech patterns in many instances.

Most recently I was run out of Eureka, CA for being a radical leftist; so that has rankled, leaving me isolated in a cramped apartment seven hundred miles north of the place I'd lived far longer than any place else in my life. There is a chronic housing shortage at all income levels, so I got sacrificed in a hostile ownership takeover or maybe even a corrupt facade of one; at the 1880s apartment I lived in built as a little livery stable, carriage house & hay barn for a small adjacent brewery.

Hey, I'm on a roll today; so sorry about thread-jacking a little.

If there'd been photos I'd of never gotten verbose, here. Looking forward to those, for sure.

I ended up paying $1800 which I thought was a little too much especially since it doesn't have A/C, but after losing out on the last 2 Festivas I tried to buy, I felt it was still a good deal being a 1 owner and having maintenance records with it. The guy was nice enough to hold off selling it until I got there, and had received several calls while I was still on the road from local people wanting to come look at it. I've been busy trying to fix a couple of things my XR2 and need to create a photobucket account so I can post pictures.
