  • Any speedometer sending unit to replace the speedometer cable?

Anyone know of a speedometer sending unit from another transmission that could be used in an 88 4 speed to replace the speedometer cable?

I'm looking at options for doing a custom speedometer as an interesting project but would like to just find a cheap sending unit at the JY or something that would plug in without having to buy a new aftermarket one.

    Anyone know of anything?

I don't mean to necro this old post, but I'd like to do the same.

Thanks! I just thought it be nifty to replace the stock tach cluster with a thin wood panel cut to fit the stock location, wrapped in carbon fibre style vinyl. I just think it would look infinitely better than the stock cluster, plus you get to have a Speedo that goes higher than 85mph. not to mention just being able to completely customize how you want your gauges setup.
