  • Aspire Production History 1994 5 door before Buying

Hello friends, have a question about how many 4 door hatchback were produced in 94 compared to 3 door ? Cute 94 for sale with A/C , 5 speed, 100,000 miles in great shape. Local wrecker yard have zero 4 doors. to located interior or body parts if needed worries me. $1800 is to high price for me. 2014hanson@gmail.com

The fuel tanks are different between 2 and 4 door Aspires. (The 2 door tanks are the same as all Festiva FI tanks, BTW.)

I wouldn't worry too much about specific 4 door parts as there seem to be plenty of 4 doors around. I have no idea how many of each were made each model year though.

I say if you find a good 4 door at a good price and want a 4 door, get it! $1800 for a 100K mile Aspire "in great shape" sounds like a decent deal to me, depending on area of country and how often such cars come along. I'd still try the usual "knock a few hundred off the price" if possible.

The operative word is "cute". Aspire did not appeal to the public in the same way the predecessor Festiva did, and fewer were produced. Festy nuts are a rare breed and folks that lust over Aspires can probably be counted on two hands. On top of this the cars weighed a couple of hundred (at least) pounds more and yet retained the same 60 hp B3 as found in Festys.

Cute as it would be the wife ride she ran 1997 & 1999 escort 4 door until both die in accidents caused by monster trucks in traffic. She asked me why we are going backward in vehicles, I said simply to keep running & work on them, better fuel mileage. Thanks for your help Safety Guy & Bert. also to all other for helping me out. 5pm tonight I go crawl around it, see how badly he or she needs to sell it.
