  • Nissan Pao; wow!

A few weeks ago, I noticed an unusual car with British Columbia plates; parked along one of the regular bicycle routes I typically use.

Careful inspection amidst much admiration, revealed I was looking at a Nissan Pao. Probably the most attractive looking car I've ever seen.[http://www.autozine.org/Archive/Nissan/classic/Be1.html

The Pao seemed a design for outback use; probably an illusion, the automatic transmission certainly suggested-even before my looking on the net for more about them.

I'd guess there are lots of automobiles produced for use elsewhere, which never get to this country; while also of obvious interest.[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Pao

Interestingly, the Pao I saw; had 13" rims & tires-rather than the 155/SR12 size wikipedia states, as standard for the cars.

I must've spent half an hour or more, carefully looking over the pale green Pao the first time I stopped to see the thing; I believe I'd noticed before, and just yesterday saw again parked at the same spot.

I was all but tempted to open a door as they'd appeared unlocked, though thought better of that notion.

I think they could start making these again in quantity; and outsell all other cars on the planet, VW Beetles & Ford Model Ts included. Not that the planet would need all that many, however; perhaps one of the manufacturer's hidden notions, in making them a limited edition?
