    That was a adapter for 2" to 1 1/4".
I cut it on all the corners and then folded them out and welded it to the crash bar. Then reinforced with angle iron from one end to the other. It pulls a jet ski and my 10 foot boat no problem.

I think the designer of the Curtis hitch was on crack. The steel on the wheel well is too thin for the job it is designed to do. I have one someone else made that attaches to the two tie downs and it has served me well. Towed about 15 different cars, and up to 150 pounds tongue weight. Looks like crud, works like a champ.

I have the stuff here to make another one, Cliff. Want me to weld one up for you?

        Strong hitch

See how I did it (rightmost photo).

Notice that your tiedown points MUST look like as in the "93 tiedown" photo (middle); those on older years (88, prob also 89) (leftmost photo) are completely different.

I've pulled a 4x8 by 4' tall box trailer loaded to well over 1,000 pounds with this.

Honestly, if you're about to pay $150 for a bolt-on option, go to a junkyard, grab a non-rusty hitch - dang near any hitch - find a good welder and get it custom-fabbed. I'm.. over 200lbs >_>.. and I can stand on the hitch itself! woot

Those bolt-on options are only rated for 100 tongue weight.
