  • Wire identification

I am hoping for help in identifying miscellaneous wires that I am finding.

1 driver side tail light area
    Black/blue
    Blue
Blue/pink or orange or similar color

2 passenger side tail light area
    Green/black
Blue/pink or orange or similar color

3 passenger side tail light area
    Blue/yellow
    White/red

  • #2
    blue/orange + green/black - liftgate wiper motor
blue/green - luggage compartment lamp switch
green - high mount stop lamp
    black/blue - rear window defroster
    red/green - license plate lamps

    white/red + blue/green - cargo lamp

I presume yours is an 89.
You can look up your own colors on this wiring diagram.

I'm sorry I should have clarified that mine is a 91. I don't know the trim package. I can only assume that the wiring is different?

          Wire identification

So in #1 blue and blue/orange is the wiper motor itself? Which isn't run to my hatch so if I upgrade I will have to run the wires. And black/blue is the defrost which my car doesn't have.

And the one in #2 is for the wiper sprayer motor you mean ? Because that's where the tank would be right ? Passenger tail light area

Sorry that's what I'm finding when I look at the diagrams I don't mean to argue with you. I really do appreciate the help

            You are correct.
Here is a pic of the rear wiper motor showing the wire colors.
You can't see the rear defrost wire because it exits just before the wiper motor.

Thank you for your help and thanks for the wiring diagrams. They are hard to find when you don't know where to look. By chance wasn't there a area outside of the forums that had a lot of good info and howtos on this site?
