  • My first fill up :D

So I just did my first fill up after driving it for a week (only 6.46 gallons filled back up). Half city / half highway-type miles. Had the AC running, junk in the hatch area (spare parts, spare tire, probably about 40lbs of stuff) had my brother ride to work with me one or two days and went back and forth to different places. Even with the AC on I got 41 mpg This car is freakin sweet. I cant wait to fix that throwout bearing and drive it all the time. Perhaps changing out the plugs, wires and timing components will get me better MPG. In my experience that's never actually happened, but here's hoping.

Mine with almost 300k miles, smokes and runs rough for a few minutes when it sits for more than a day, still gets 40+. I got 42.7 on the last tank. One of my favorite cars I ever owned.

                      Mmmm...sad stuff
At least there's nice elevation changes and pretty scenery. Probably almost
                      makes up for it.

Hot and humid. Most of my vehicles have had inop A/C and I grew up in south Florida and worked outside most of my career, so the heat really doesn't bother me. Back on subject. I've tried driving like an old lady for one tank and it didn't make a difference in MPG. I take off hard from red lights and still get 40 mpg. But I only have a handful of lights on my 30+ mile commute to the office.

I'm from Florida and I just never got used to it. The UK was more my speed. Didn't
mind the rain and fog because the weather was so much more bearable. I'll try driving
it a bit harder and see if it makes a difference. My shift points are pretty low currently.
                              11-18-28-37 and then I'm in 5th haha
