What is this and can I delete it with a block off plate? I already bypassed the coolant lines.

Your car will have idling issues on cold startups in the winter. No reason you couldn't though. Use silicon and a block plate, incorporate factory mounting screws too

thanks for the reply. i kept the idle unit, but i bypassed the coolant hoses so they dont go through my intake. maybe ill get some lower intake temps now
