  • The Squig car has been one problem ......

    .... after another!!

Got this car for $1100 up in Northern Ohio last winter. Seems like every time I take it out for a drive, something else goes wrong with it.

First off it needed struts all around, then a radiator, brakes, rotors, calipers, wheel bearings, battery, tires, & another drivers door.

I take it out for a drive today and had to call a tow truck. Lost the brake fluid & all the radiator fluid in one trip. What the heck!

I still want to put an a/c in it BUT I may just put this thing up for sale. This car has been one aggravation after another!!

I towed my $248, engineless, eBay piece of junk home from Detroit. I knew I would have to put a lot of work into it to make it run. Nobody believed I could do it all by myself. But, I did it. More importantly, my three boys saw me do it. Plus, it runs strong and fast. Besides, new cars are ridiculously expensive.

I trust my Festiva to drive from coast to coast.

You just got to work out the kinks, these cars were looked at as disposable, often neglected. You possibly broke a brake line I bet it was a front one. There are some for sale now. I was cheap and bought a 30 in line from Napa and half ass bent it to fit. A rad hose is pretty cheap to. Don't lose faith!!

Sounds great! My Festy Shadow has been running great after I Just about replaced everything but the engine and trans. Festy Squig though, has been aggravation. I'm to the point now where I hold my breath when I take the car out, wondering what else will go wrong.

Well, just visually looking at it looks like a leak in the right rear for the brake line and rad I don't see anything right now. I will have to look at it more when I get back from a bike rally on Sunday.

Jeez, Now the Squig car is leaking oil bad out the front seals ........... I think I give up on this car!!!

Any suggestions on what I should do with this car? ........... Maybe run it off a cliff or drive it in the river.

I think the guy who sold me this lemon knew what he was getting rid of.

Oh ya, I forgot to mention, the radiator leak must be internal .... head gasket probably.

I checked the oil pan gasket bolts and they were loose, so I gave each bolt a quarter turn. Hopefully that's all it is.
