I have an 88 carb festy and want to rebuild the carburetor but would like to do it on a spare carb. What other cars had this carb? does any one have one to sell?

As far as I know, the Festiva feedback carburetor is completely unique. You're welcome to search the designated For Sale forum for a carburetor in addition to checking your local junkyards (There weren't any last time I was in the Florida Keys) and Ebay auctions along with Car-Part.com.

When I was looking at carb rebuild kits I saw pictures of the contents of several and it looked like the most complete kit was made by Echlin #CRB 25413, sold by NAPA. It was maybe $7 more than the others but worth it. That's the one I will be getting.

Do not waste any time or money rebuilding a Festiva carb. Not worth it. Go on eBay for a cheap Escort or Weber carb and then buy a Rocketman adapter . You can unplug your computer and remove it following the transplant surgery.

I agree with brave too. I would not choose the carb model but I got mine by circumstance. I can work on it, it's not that hard to understand, and I kind of enjoyed the challenge of learning about it. I've gotten a lot of good service out of it but availability of certain parts is may knock it out of the game before the FI car. I think one's circumstances & car condition dictate whether it's worth a minor fix like carb overhaul. A standard carb could run one "forever". FI is better. An engine swap is best. my opinion.

There are some good books on the Weber carbs available online, but you can ask some folks on the website here who seem to know them pretty well--drddan and drumnerd33 come to mind offhand.

Get an Escort carb. They are made better. I find Webers to be sort of cheesy. Escort is a solid design. Heavier and more advanced. They even have a throttle kicker for your air. You have to rig a Weber to do that. PITA! You can get a NOS Escort carb and a Rocketman adapter for less than you will pay for a Weber 32/36 alone. No brainer. I've had both and the Escort is much better IMO.
