So our cars never took off back in the 90s as a solid contender for performance because no one ever made goods for them with their basic engine. Eventually the engine swap became custom amongst owners for more power, but there's tons of other models of cars in the world (specifically fuel economy sized cars) that might have been a better performance platform if someone would have designed parts for them. What late 80s to early 2000s cars would you love to have if someone made race parts for them?

Geo Metro. The 1st generation. Lighter, smaller, and lower than the Festiva. Better MPG too. And they gave us a 4 door version.

I drive a Yaris pretty often. The seats suck. The Scion seats are much better. It also has no guts. But if you swapped to Scion xA seats and stuck a turbo on it, it would be a nice DD.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

People pay good money for cold air intakes that might add 3hp. I can't see how 200 for a generic fit intake manifold that would clean up the engine bay is that far out of people's comfort range. Any generic designed intake for a fuel economy engine should be an upgrade

I love my 85 Nissan Sentra, really fun car to drive being a five speed with 1.6 liter. Mines stock besides a weber carb swap which really woke it up, and KYB struts/shocks. It's a awesome car to drive, prefer it over the festiva to be honest, wish more were around still.. I'd have a few more. Still drive the festiva more solely because I want to keep it as nice as possible, and parts aren't as easy to find for them. I bet I average 30-40 mpg with it, and I don't try to squeeze the most mpgs out of it, too much fun hearing the weber sound haha. It feels festiva-like just more refined, darn close to the same weight, better ride quality, amazing heat and ac, it'll freeze you out or make you sweat on full blast. Also for a 80's car there is almost no wind noise inside, almost like a new car.-93' L BP swap/e-series, coilovers, RIO front swap, redrilled festy drums, Miata 14" 7 spokes.
